- Oil filter wrench

- ** Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.**
- Locate the oil filter. The oil filter is typically located under the engine, near the front of the vehicle. It is a black or dark-colored component with a cap on top.
- Loosen the oil filter cap with the wrench. Turn the wrench counterclockwise until the cap is loose. Do not remove the cap completely at this point.
- Position the new oil filter. Place the new oil filter on the engine, making sure that the gasket is facing up.
- Hand-tighten the oil filter until it is snug. Do not overtighten the oil filter, as this can damage the threads.
- Tighten the oil filter with the wrench in a star pattern. Tighten the oil filter in a star pattern, tightening each bolt a little bit at a time until they are snug.
- Replace the oil filter cap. Tighten the oil filter cap with the wrench.
- Start the vehicle and check the oil level. Add oil if necessary.
- Dispose of the old oil filter properly.

- Use a new oil filter every 7,500 to 10,000 miles.
