Tools and Materials:
- New brake line
- Brake line pliers
- Wrench set
- Torque wrench
- Safety glasses
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle and engage the parking brake.
- Disconnect the brake line from the old line. Use the brake line pliers to loosen the nuts that hold the line in place.
- Remove the old brake line. Use the wrench set to loosen and remove the nuts that hold the line in place.
- Clean the mating surfaces on the caliper and brake line. Use a clean cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
- Install the new brake line. Make sure that the lines are installed in the correct order.
- Tighten the nuts on the new brake line until snug.
- Reattach the brake line to the caliper. Use the brake line pliers to tighten the nuts in a star pattern.
- Bleed the brake lines. Open the bleeder valves on the caliper and let the fluid flow until the brakes are bleeding.
- Tighten the nuts on the bleeder valves until snug.
- Test the brakes. Apply the brakes and check if they are working properly.
Tips:
- Use a new brake line every time you replace the brake pads.
- Use a brake cleaner to clean the mating surfaces on the caliper and brake line.
- Be careful when reattaching the brake line to the caliper.
- Bleed the brakes until the brakes are working properly.
